The pithead frame of the Zollverein XII colliery in Essen is called the “Eiffel Tower of the Ruhr District”. It was built during 1927-1932. 2002 it was made a UNESCO World Heritage site by a ceremonial act by the German President. In order to compare it with the Eiffel Tower in Paris, both models have been made in the same scale of 1:300. The model shows the pithead frame, machine halls and shaft hall.
