On July 2nd, 2000, it had been one hundred years that the first rigid airship could climb. Count Zeppelin had employed himself since 1873 with that and then could build the LZ 1 which started from a floating raft on Lake Constance. 128 m for a long time the LZ 1 was and achieved with altogether 30 hp of 32 km/h. The LZ 129 Hindenburg was fast at 245 m of length and 5.280 hp of 125 km/h in the twenties. The models with up to 124 cm of length reflect the dimensions of these gigantic vehicles.
